OUTSTANDING PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
1. Creation and implementation of the Talented and Gifted: Explorations in Literature and Humanities
class at Lafayette High School. In its seventh year, this public school class researches, fundraises and reads in order to develop a basis which allows them to travel to their destination of study (1999-2006). TAG curriculum writing team (2006).
2. Creation and implementation of a Student Summer Hire Fair which combined student instructional
activities with local businesses to find and fill summer jobs positions in the community. Project was adopted by St. Joseph School District School to Careers Program for all three city high schools.
3. Team member for creation of high school language arts curriculum for the St. Joseph School District;
team leader for the creation and implementation of middle school language arts curriculum.
4. Selection for state-level MAP model curriculum writing, regional team member and test scoring
training leader; assistant MAP scoring supervisor for grade 11 test scoring site.
5. Completion of regional writing project (Prairie Lands Writing Project) course where classroom action
research foundations were realized resulting in district wide application of research topic, participant in the first Educator Institute — a cooperative learning venture between Missouri Western University, the city of St. Joseph and the Saint Joseph School District
6. St. Joseph School District’s Innovator of the Year; selected for the creation of the Talented and Gifted
Literature and Humanities class at Lafayette High School which trains students to become leaders through research, reading, speaking, fundraising and national travel to broaden the learning capacity of students.
